I am going to Uganda!!

At the end of October I am traveling to Kampala, Uganda to work at the Tender Hearts Baby Home! The adoption agency I work with, Nightlight Christian Adoptions, has partnered with this home and we are going to help with construction (which could be a little scary), loving on the workers and children already at the home, and spend time with the people in the community as well (there may be a vacation bible school in the works!). I am so excited about this opportunity, and what makes it even better is that two of my dear friends from church are coming with me! There are actually people from all over the country coming- about 15 of us in total. My friend Carla who is coming with us is actually in the process of adopting through our agency from Uganda, so we will possibly be loving on her sweet baby and not even know it yet!

Please let me know if you would like to support us through prayer or financially! We will also be participating in several fundraisers, so let us know if you have any ideas! This is going to be such an amazing journey and I am looking forward to what the Lord has for us, even in just preparing our hearts to go. My goal is to keep track of everything on hear so you can join us on this adventure.

Joshua24:15- "But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve... But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."

Acts13:47- "For this is what the LORD has commanded us: "I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth."

Our Adoption Story

Dear Sweet Family & Friends,
Many of you know that in January the Lord really placed adoption on our hearts. After much prayer we began the adoption process in February- Step of Faith # 1. We first started the journey through DSS (the state). After many months of prayer, we really feel like the Lord has closed that door. We were a little frustrated at first, but when he closes one door he opens another! We decided to look into other agencies and have decided to pursue an adoption through Bethany Christian Services- Step of Faith # 2. We were originally so overwhelmed and scared about financing this adoption, but it has been amazing to see the Lord provide in so many ways, and this is just the beginning. Our friends and family have been so supportive and have already been thinking of great fundraisers to help us with the costs! The most important thing to us is all of the encouragement we have gotten and knowing that so many people are praying for us! We are really looking forward to bringing our little one home and becoming parents. Please continue to pray that His will be done and that we follow Him every step of the way!
Here are some verses that we have been focusing on during this journey:
Hebrews11:1- "Now Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see."
James1:27- "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."
Mathew6:19-20- "Do not store up yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal."
